JAMES HENSEL
Analyst
James Hensel is an Analyst with Compass Health Advisors. Through his work performing advanced data analytics for clients, he provides and enables valuable insights required to plan, design and deploy value-based care strategies. This also stems from his experience in the areas of clinical reporting, EMR implementation, risk modeling, and population health management (PHM).
Mr. Hensel is able to develop sophisticated analytical models that incorporate data sets essential to value-based care including payer contracts, claims, utilization and clinical data. These analyses support strategic decision-making related to population stratification and segmentation, cost and utilization analyses and return-on-investment (ROI) development.
Prior to joining Compass Mr. Hensel worked at Epic Systems, where he provided technical, operational, and strategic support for healthcare organizations around the country, and at Fujifilm Medical Systems, where he helped identify areas for IT improvement and growth. During this time Mr. Hensel developed a strong interest in the development and evaluation of clinical risk scores, initiatives to improve CMS quality scores, and strategies for improving the well-being of particularly vulnerable patient groups.
James received his BSE in Biomedical and Health Sciences Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with distinction.
